Chinese Rhubarb: 3 Incredible Ways It Supports Better Detox

When you think of rhubarb, what comes to mind? For most people, rhubarb is simply a tasty addition to strawberry pie. Or one of those weird vegetables you pass by every week at the store but never add to your cart.

Yet rhubarb boasts a bevy of impressive health benefits. In fact, rhubarb has been used traditionally in Chinese Medicine for thousands of years as a remedy for stomach issues, sepsis, and you guessed it – constipation. (1)

This article breaks down the health benefits of this potent plant and how it promotes better detox. Let’s dive in!

3 Ways Chinese Rhubarb Helps You Detox

I’ll be real. I didn’t know much about rhubarb until I began my Traditional Chinese Medicine studies. Then, I quickly learned that rhubarb is revered for its medicinal properties.

Let me break down three of them for you:

1 - Keeps the bowels moving

As stated earlier, rhubarb is commonly used as a treatment for constipation. (2) Research suggests its laxative effects are due to high levels of a compound called anthraquinones. (3)

Keeping your bowels moving is critical if you’re on any detox protocol – whether for mold, heavy metals, candida, Lyme, parasites, or anything else. Otherwise, toxins can build up in the body, leading to die-off reactions and further distress.

When I was formulating Mi Toxin Binder, Chinese Rhubarb was the missing link. Many binders such as charcoal, can plug you up. This is NOT ideal when you’re trying to escort toxins out of the body!

Once I added Chinese Rhubarb into the mix, the constipation problem was gone. Easy as strawberry rhubarb pie.

2 - Protects liver & kidneys

To detox effectively, you want your liver and kidneys in tip-top shape. Thankfully, rhubarb protects both of these eliminatory organs. Rhubarb has anti-inflammatory effects on the body and is known to lessen fibrosis, a common outcome of chronic liver injury and kidney disease. (4)

3 - Circulates blood

Yes, rhubarb keeps your bowels moving, but it gets your blood moving as well. Proper blood circulation feeds your cells oxygen and nutrients and is key to effective detox.

Luckily, rhubarb contains a compound called chrysophanol that offers numerous benefits to your circulatory system. (5) This includes promoting blood circulation and hemostasis, which helps your body recover from injuries and infections. (3)

Get Ready for Better Detox: Introducing Mi Toxin Binder

Detox can be bumpy without the right support. Die-off reactions are no joke and can make you want to throw in the detox towel altogether.

So if you’re struggling in the detox department and are looking for a way to smooth out the bumps, adding a toxin binder can be a gamechanger.

But not all toxins binders are created equal. Each binder has an affinity for certain toxins. And unfortunately, many can lead to constipation.

That’s exactly why I included Chinese Rhubarb in our new binder formula: Mi Toxin Binder. This custom formula contains ingredients that bind to all categories of mycotoxins, soothe the gut, support the liver and kidneys, and yes…get your bowels moving.
