Why Toxic Mold Drains Your Energy (and How to Get it Back)

Do you seem to always feel tired, no matter how much sleep you get? One of the hallmark symptoms of mold illness is exhaustion. I’m talking bone-tired, deep, debilitating fatigue.

In this article we’ll cover why toxic mold makes you feel so tired and steps you can take to get your energy back!

Mold Toxicity & Chronic Fatigue: What’s the Connection?

Mold will affect your energy, primarily, due to lowering energy/ATP production in your cells.

This can also cause widespread systemic damage such as:

  • Insulin resistance

  • Low adrenal output

  • Low testosterone

  • Poor brain performance

  • Low thyroid activity

Getting to the root of fatigue is definitely a worthy exploration and you’ll likely have several factors contributing to your fatigue.

Luckily there are some things you can add to your daily routine that give you more energy through getting more oxygen or brain stimulation. And there are some general things you can do like working on your diet or utilizing adaptogenic herbs.

Beyond that it will take your long-term efforts at detoxification and your restoration of various body systems. And, for the long haul, you’ll need to keep up a good diet, manage stress, move your body and get a good night’s sleep.

Possible causes:

  • Adrenal fatigue

  • Low thyroid function

  • Heavy metal toxicity

  • Mitochondrial deficiency due to mold

  • Leaky brain

  • Blood sugar issues

  • Iron deficiency (especially if out of breath easily)

  • Overwork

  • Poor sleep

  • Chronic stress

  • Cell danger response

Possible tests:

Quick wins:

  • Rebounding (jumping on a mini trampoline)

  • Dry brushing

  • Coffee Enemas

  • Sauna

  • Essential oils such as peppermint and orange

  • Salt water/electrolytes

  • Cold water bath/shower or cryotherapy

  • Chlorella (detoxifies and energizes)

  • Floradix, (monitor ferritin levels)

  • Higher fat/higher fiber diet - avoid processed foods

  • CoQ10 - 200 mg day (I like our Mi CoQ10, taken first thing in AM)

  • Avoid snacking - look into time-restricted eating

  • Acupuncture

  • My lemon greens drink (recipe is here)
